Frequently asked questions
How is it different from a wobble extension or a uni joint?
How is it different from a wobble extension or a uni joint?
A wobble or uni joint only bends the line to the bolt. Your ratchet still has to swing right where the bolt is, and the joint flops or folds the moment you lean on it. LASTBOLT moves the swing instead. The socket sits square on the bolt, and a steel chain inside the rigid bar carries every turn across from the far end, where there’s room.
Will it fit the sockets and ratchet I already own?
Will it fit the sockets and ratchet I already own?
Yes. The kit comes with 3 drive adapters, so it works with 1/4", 3/8" and 1/2" ratchets and sockets, plus a 1/4" hex bit socket. You won’t need a new socket set.
Can I use it on my rattle gun?
Can I use it on my rattle gun?
Yes, on the lowest setting. A cordless rattle gun on setting 1, or 2 at most, is fine. Higher settings wear the chain over time, so if a bolt is properly seized, crack it with a breaker bar first.
I only need it for one bolt. Is it worth it?
I only need it for one bolt. Is it worth it?
One hour at an Australian workshop costs more than a LASTBOLT, and a bolt they have to pull parts off to reach is rarely a one hour job. After that, it stays in the drawer for the next one: the starter bolt, the back spark plug, the bracket behind the radiator.
Is it a good gift for the bloke who has every tool?
Is it a good gift for the bloke who has every tool?
It’s one of the few tools he probably doesn’t have yet. It comes in its own hard case and works with the sockets he already owns. If he turns out to have one, send it back within 100 days.
